Who does Nourish 282 serve?
Nourish 282 has programs serving students in School District 282, which includes St. Anthony Community
Services, Wilshire Park Elementary, St. Anthony Middle School and the St. Anthony Village High School. Families
What are the programs offered by Nourish 282?
We are currently offering free weekend food bags for food insecure families, a Free Outerwear Store and
supplemental grocery store gift cards for extended breaks.
How does the weekend food program work?
Nourish 282 provides one free bag of food every Friday for each child enrolled in the program. Bags are
discreetly placed in students backpacks by their teacher.
What can I expect in each bag?
The bag contains one canned fruit, one canned vegetable, one canned protein, one ready-to-serve item and
either rice, beans or pasta.
What if I have more than one child?
Nourish 282 will provide a bag of food for each of your children enrolled in District 282. For example, if you have
three children, fill out the form with each of your children listed with their grade and teachers names as well.

Arrangements can be made in regards to shared custody situations. Please contact your child's school office for
What if I no longer need food assistance?
If assistance is no longer needed, that's great. Simply let the school's office know that it's no longer needed and
your student(s) will be removed from the program.
How do I enroll in the weekend food program?
Enrollment is easy. Simply fill out the permission slip (available through your child's school office).
What is the Free Outerwear Store?
The Free Store is just as it sounds. Nourish 282, with the help of our generous community, collects new and
gently used outerwear for families that could use a little assistance in providing these necessities for their
children. The store is set up at Wilshire Park and families can shop for jackets, snow pants, hats, scarves,
mittens/gloves and boots. The date for for the 2015-16 school year is Monday, October 12th, after school.
How is Nourish 282 funded?
Nourish 282 is funded through the generosity of community members, businesses and civic organizations.
Without the financial support of our community, we would not be able to provide assistance.
How can I donate?
Monetary donations are always welcome, needed and greatly appreciated! You can donate through our website
or write a check to Nourish 282 and drop it to a school office or mail to 3301 Silver Lake Rd, St. Anthony, MN 55418.
Donations of outerwear are also needed in early October. New or gently used jackets, snow pants, hats, scarves,
mittens/gloves and boots can be dropped off at Wilshire Park's Fall Festival on the second Saturday in October.
What other ways can I get involved to help?
Nourish 282 has volunteer opportunities available. Volunteers are needed at Wilshire Park on Thursday afternoons,
3:40-4:10, to deliver food bags to classrooms. We do ask that for the privacy of students receiving food bags, we prefer
adults only. We also schedule packing dates with The Sheridan Story. This is a great way to involve the entire family . Registration for either opportunity can be found here.
